"card stolen at Vegas rippers"
I'd love to hear that call you made. Lol
Yes, I have delayed trips due to concerns with the virus.
No, I am proceeding as planned with all travel.
Yes, but I will take precautions and still go.
The Corona threat is all a bunch of hogwash.

Oh yeah, 100% I thought I was going to have to pay it as it would have been hard enough to convince them even if I wasn't there, but I was in fact there. I was at a bachelor party (again, not helping my story) and that was the first night, so it ruined my entire weekend. I barely spent a penny for the remainder of the trip thinking I'd have to pay that, and also the stress from it alone probably took years off my life. I barely ate anything and didn't have another drink for the remainder of the trip - was not a fun weekend. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The fraud was bottle service too, it wasn't even girls - that may have helped me at the end of the day, I'm not sure. That and the fact that the USA doesn't use chip cards in Vegas (or didn't at that time). I think what happened was my credit card was entered into their "let me start you a tab" system under the wrong table or something (staff took my card and returned like 20 mins later). I'll never know for sure.
Not only did Capital One refund me the fraudulent charges, but also the charges I did make (a WAY smaller amount haha), because there was no way to tell which ones were legit.
In contrast, I used to have a BMO MasterCard and they denied my fraud claim for a $50 charge in Nigeria even though I have never traveled there, was in Calgary at the time, and it is world famous for fraud lol. Also, I'm the one that found it, not their automated anti-fraud systems. I will never do business with BMO ever again in any capacity after that - I cancelled my CC the next day.
Just got our full refund from Airbnb. No hassles.
Planned to go to Disneyland this December. Even if the parks do open fully, the protocols and capacity they'll put in place will make it a huge hassle.

This is the problem with leisure travel for the next however long. Not that it'll remain impossible or illegal, but it'll just be a big hassle. I'm just waiting for my bosses to get some mandatory business travel. None scheduled yet. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I'll start going when the quarantine requirement gets lifted when you land on foreign soil. 4 week vacation and half of it in a hotel
I wanted to do universal in october but seeing the people and how they dgaf even though there’s apparent protocols in place makes it a no go for meThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Hawaii is open Aug 1 with no quarantine if you have a negative test within 72 hours which is extremely easy to do. Not sure if that also applies to Canadians but I'll be going ASAP. With nobody following the rules/protocols (that I have seen) in AB the for last ~3 months, nothing is going to be any different from that standpoint. Most of the time you're alone and outdoors there anyway.

I’m looking into this as well , but test results are not guaranteed in 72hrs, 2-5 days.
Most people's tests come back in ~24-48hr, but there would be a bit of risk involved I suppose. Also it's not clear if it's 72hr from your test date or your result date. Would be nice if you could pay for a rush through a travel clinic or similar - maybe you can. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
It's a gamble, but I think a printed negative test result is a hefty piece of evidence, even if it's not precisely tuned within their alleged timeline.
Worth doing. Set an apt and get tested.
We almost booked Hawaii but decided to wait. Don’t like the idea of quarantining for 14 days after coming back.
Couldn't you simply get tested upon return (2-3 day wait) instead of quarantining for 14 days? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Good point, I’m not sure what the rules are for that. I will check that out.
We're thinking of booking Phuket for 2 weeks end of August...I think Asia is the safest place right now in terms of not catching COVID.
Wife is in school and I work from home now, so 14 days isolation coming back is not a problem (thank God we live in a house and not a small condo).

Nope, not how the rules work. You could catch covid on the airplane, land here and test negative and then develop symptoms 5 days later (or be asymptomatic and not show any symptoms). It takes a few days after exposure for the tests to pickup covid. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
As a realtor you are exempt from mandatory quarantine, but I guess your family would have to still. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

What better way to spread it around by showing potential houses to buyers and sellers
