Elbow/Anderson; 10:30 Aug 23

Looked like a huge accident Eastbound Anderson and Elbow Dr. around 10:30 tonight. 10 cruisers, 4 firetucks, 4 ambulance... 4 cars turned the wrong way, bent merge sign post...traffic closed on all Soutbound Elbow and Eastbound Anderson approaching intersection. Nothing on Citybeay.

Anyone else see anything?

just passed through there, was heading south on anderson.
Heading south is blocked off from 14st to Elbow, had to take Canyon Meadows down to Macloed.

This was at 12:30 am. Still 4 cruisers out there...

I couldnt really see anything, The road was taped off, thats all i saw.

Basically one car turning left another car going straight. They meet in the middle and the one going left ends up way down the hill. Was not a good situation. 4 transported to hospital 2 in bad shape.

Shiat.... too many accidents lately... specially shootings in
Calgary what has this city turned into... seriously it used to be an
awesome and safe city and now bad people and carelss people
are turning it into a city where I don't want to be livin like L.A.

i ran into the same problem. i was driving down anderson at about 11:00 and the cops had the road closed off.

this has to be a big one...

city is getting bigger, and with that, more crime, more stupid drivers, etc. more people better the odds theres dumbass's and criminals.

That wasnt a fatality. That intersection is a collection basket for peoples lives.

CITYBEAT - CITY OF CALGARY PRESS RELEASE

On the evening of August 23 at approximately 22:30 hours
Calgary Paramedics, The Calgary Fire Department, and The
Calgary Police
Service responded to the intersection of Anderson Road and
Elbow Drive for reports of a two vehicle
Collision.

When Paramedics arrived, they quickly assessed and provided
care to six people who had been involved in the accident. The
two occupants of one vehicle had minor soft tissue injuries
and were not transported to a hospital. However the four
occupants of the second vehicle all required treatment and
transport by Calgary Paramedics to hospital.

Patient #1: 30 year old male driver received chest injuries
and was
transported to the Foothills Hospital in stable, non-life
threatening condition.

Patient #2: 48 year old female passenger received pelvic and
leg injuries and was transported to the Foothills Hospital in
serious, unstable condition after having to be extricated
from the vehicle by The Calgary Fire Department.

Patient #3: 54 year old female passenger received minor soft
tissue injuries and was transported to the Rockyview Hospital
in stable condition.

Patient #4: 62 year old female passenger received minor soft
tissue injuries and was transported to the Rockyview Hospital
in stable condition.

All occupants were wearing their seat belts at the time of
the accident.


The Calgary Police Service is investigating the details of
this incident
