Default Whats a good price for a brand new bike?

No I havent visited any of the dealerships yet... Im just wanting to see what kind of prices Id be expecting! Im going to give The new honda Powerhouse or whatever its called a try to see how much their new CBR600's are, and im gonna check out blackfoot motorsports on monday to see if they got any GSXR600's or CBR's also.

What kind of prices would I be looking to see? Im in the market for a new bike but need to do some shopping first.

    Any help is appreciated.

IIRC 600's are about 11,500 and 1000's are in the 14,000 range.

Talk to Brent at walt healy. I bought my bike from him and had a great experience, he is a beyond member. Kevin88 is the parts manager there as well.

I got a good deal on my bike and they have Yamaha and Zuki

CBR600RR's are usually more expensive than Gixxers 600s.

there were a few deals in 08 when they were selling for 10 OTD.

probably round 12 is what i think youll be seeing.

    bahaha no sorry.

Brent and Kevin work at a place called Walt Healy

    www.walthealy.com

Personally I do not like Blackfoot one bit, I find the people rude and the prices high. The only time I bought there was when my friend had a job there and if I need something that no other place has because they do have a huge selection.

There's usually good deals on new units from last year's stock (so, 09s now).

    Some examples:

    @ Pro Am
    - 2009 ZX6Rs $9999
    - 2009 ZX1000s $10999
    - 2009 R6s $10499

    @ Walt
    - 2009 R6s $9999
    - 2009 GSXR600s $10999

Check on Kijiji too. Not for used bikes, but I have found ads from some Alberta dealers willing to move new units for cheap. Last year I contacted a dealer somewhere in the Edmonton area who was willing to go under $11k for a 2009 CBR600rr, but I got too good of a deal on a 2009 ZX6R to pass it up.

FYI, Blackfoot does not do Honda, so no CBRs there.

definitely there was a place just outside red deer i forget the name though that was advertising 07 cbr600rrs for 10 OTD

IMO it would be perfect time to break in a bike

    No doubt.

Maybe we're thinking of the same place? I might have an old email from them, so I'll have a look. I originally thought Edmonton, but I might be thinking too far north.

This is going to be my First bike but I dont want anything to Beat up and destroyed.. The prices arent cheap thats for sure, But There is finaincing.. How much could I be looking at monthly with a decent downpayment of $2500?

i hope you check out insurance before you finance a bike.....

i was 21/male/1 speeding ticket and they wanted 6200 for full coverage on a 07 cbr600rr.

good thing i bought it out right so i didn't have to get full coverage.

IMO i would go used....interest rates for honda financing when i looked into for a bike was something like 12 percent.

depends what kind of bike for some places.
depends how many cc's for statefarm.

    driving record and everything.

it was 350 for liability for a year on my bike, with theft it was 3k ish.

bikes are easy to steal too.

i was lucky with my brand new bike, i never dropped it

everyone says you'll drop your first bike, maybe i was just lucky....but my mom dropped my bike trying to move it in the garage.....100 pounds soakin wet chinese lady.......sigh.....

take the course too, i learned to ride without the course but i still thought the course was good, though somewhat retarded like doin perfect 90 degree turns and a freakin circle............

19 y/o on a new crotch rocket = nightmare insurance.

I'd go for a used one if I were you. Other than the fact that you'll likely drop it, it will be easier on the wallet insurance wise.

Get a 3 or 4 year old bike and buy good gear. Don't worry about that shiny new bike just yet. Once you start riding, you'll soon realize that your next dream bike is always just a riding season away.

If you're thinking about taking a course, I'd sign up soon. With spring around the corner, spots fill up FAST.
