    Question Matte Wheel Care

Going to have my wheels powder coated next week and I really want to go with Matte/Flat Black but I'm worried about how to take care of matte wheels. I know that with any matte finishes you really should avoid waxes, polishes, wet sanding and even hard brissle brushes. So how do you care for them? How do you clean them? Do they over time become shiny in some spots? Am I better off going with something closer to satin (i.e. between matte/flat and full gloss)?

    Thanks!

I have matte black wheels and I use a spray on rim cleaner that breaks down the brake dust and then just use a normal soft carwash brush to wash them down. Come out looking great!

Not sure if matte wheel finish requires the same care as matte auto paint. But matte auto paint's overall maintenance process is essentially the same as regular paint... but just more expensive to maintain.

You can use Swissvax's Opaque line for matte type finish.

After your first thorough cleaning and protecting of your wheels, your future upkeeping will be much much easier.

    Thanks guys!

I was thinking of buying some of this stuff to put on when new and then also re apply every few washes:

And then just pressure washing and/or microfiber sponge and soap to clean

Apply a good few coats in the barrel area. Let it cure properly and it'll be worry free upkeeping!!
