Default Edmonton Vs Calgary - Meaningless argument- now with DATA

Truly, only god can judge, but us mortals get to argue, and that's nearly as good.

Based on some good-natured discussions in other threads, let's talk about Cowtown vs the City of Champions(tm)
    @Sea nconnerycelebrityje0pardee

I'll start with a little numerical comparison on winter weather in the two locations, which has been previously discussed without agreement in qualitative terms.

    1) Daily High Temps
    Month: Edmonton / Calgary
    Dec: -5.2 / -1.1
    Jan: -6.4 / -1.5
    Feb: -4.0 / 0.7

Verdict, Calgary has an average winter daily high 4.6c higher than Edmonton

    2) Daily LOW Temps
    Month: Edmonton / Calgary
    Dec: -14.6 / -11.7
    Jan: -16.2 / -12.3
    Feb: --14.4 / -11.3

Verdict, Calgary has an average winter daily low 3.3c higher than Edmonton

    3) Monthly Hours of Sunshine
    Month: Edmonton / Calgary
    Dec: 84 / 112
    Jan: 100 / 120
    Feb: 121 / 144

Verdict, Calgary has an average of 23.7 more hours of sunshine each winter month than Edmonton.
(Editor: This is like 4 more sunny day per month given how short the days are in each location)

While you're half cut on cheap beers, I think you should go on a quantitative tangent comparing per capita crime stats

Data on that stuff is kind of hard to find from reliable sources.

And that is all possible because of Chinooks which give me migraines and the feeling of being utterly exhaust. So that is a con for Calgary and a pro for Edmonton.

Not counting Nisku and Beaumont, Edmonton has 8 OJ's. Calgary also has 8 OJ's locations. Probably more single mothers at the Edmonton locations so slight edge to the North.

Biggest reason for me is that Edmonton doesn't understand what a freeway is and their Stockholm syndrome is so strong they're happy that everything is a grid and they can sit at traffic light after traffic light to go anywhere.
