I wonder if the AMG version will get the 48V treatment.

The non AMG is supposed to get 48V. AMG won’t at the start but will after. All rumors pointing to this right now.

With the 48V setup, it will fix the worst problem with the 45s, massive turbo lag at low revs.

No change in market segment, so same price points. No different than the C and E staying roughly the same price with a way more upscale interior. Options probably moving more upscale, so you can probably spec out a really expensive GLA45 by then lol.

Looks like the US is only getting the sedan(A) for 2018, which I suspect means that the hatch won't be coming here. That's too bad. Hopefully they only make the A45 a hatch, and that makes it over here.

8 year cycle (4y new/4y refresh) for the MFA cars vs 7 year cycle (4y new/3y refresh) for everything else MB. With that being said, these are the model year dates for the MFA2 platform adhering to the 8 year cycle:

MY2019 A
MY2020 B
MY2021 CLA
MY2022 GLA

No clue where GLB slots in, with spy shots just starting to show up now, best guess would be MY2020 along with the B.

AMG models typically follows 1 MY later.

Damnit - I'm really limping into a purchase right now. I have had my finger on the trigger for a C43 for the longest time but the A series has really piqued my interest. Not sure I can force myself to drive this POS X1 long enough to wait for the A.

Some rumor say it's close to 4 door AMG GT concept (fastback) instead of CLS (coupe).

So it could be a way for us to get a hatch if A45 isn't coming.
