Default Porsche Parking Only at Calgary Golf Course

    https://globalnews.ca/news/4321997/p...lf-course/amp/

A car wound up in a pond at a Calgary golf course Monday afternoon.

The owner of the Porsche told Global News they left the vehicle in neutral in the parking lot to go practice on the putting green when it started to roll down the hill.

The car picked up speed as it hit the water, then floated towards the middle of the pond.

The Canyon Meadows Golf Club was closed for maintenance at the time, and no one was injured.

The Calgary Fire Department tried to get the car out but it sunk to the bottom.
    Sounds about right

What's the chance the Porsche owner will sue the golf course for not having fencing around the perimeter

The chances are that owner will probably sue golf course and Porsche.
Golf course for not having fences and Porsche for not applying the emergency brake

I thought only the southern US has caymans in the golf course ponds.

    Edit:
    News headline should have read.
"Cayman found in local golf course pond."

At what point is an entire golf course "closed for maintenance"?

Good thing I drive an automatic and don't have to deal with stuff like this. Silly manual cars.

There's 3 spots in the entire lot that this could happen with. Either this person has the worst luck in the world, or insurance scam.

There would be better scams to pull, this would count as an at-fault collision. Way easier to have it "stolen" while left running with the keys in the ignition.

Most private clubs usually have maintenance mornings/gaps a couple times a month.

It would be even better if this guy was a non-member who was just trying to use the practice areas.

That's my 'hood. Really though, you would think the golf course would colorize the images and videos before they let anyone put it out for public broadcast.

I realize they can't grow bluegreen fescue, but they can at least make the ponds look a little less like mudpuddles.
