I've had Dim Sum all over the world, and love it. But rarely if ever in Calgary.
Where is the go to place in town?

T.Pot in the NW is pretty damn good
Your best bet is just an hour flight away. For quality I prefer Silver Dragon but there is absolutely nothing unique about it and it would be considered run of the mill to below average in Van. They also have carts which is great for a newbie or someone unfamiliar.
U and Me because it's on skip the dishes haha.

I like T.Pot just because it's 10-15min away from us.
U and Me is good too if you live near by downtown.
I still like Central Grand but it's a bit expensive compared to others.
Are the prices on skip inflated? They seem pricy compared to eating inThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Wouldn't be surprised most restaurants prices are inflated on skip due to them taking 20-25% off the top IIRC.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I love Silver Dragon, me and a buddy have a standing lunch there every few weeks.

I like Elbow casino for dim sum on weekends. No screaming kids, free heated underground parking. And a chance to win your lunch back after.

Phoenix Kitchen in Silver Springs is my favorite lately. Excellent food quality, but very slow when they get busy.

Do they have carts on certain times of the day? Only reason my gf and I go to the Dimsum upstairs in Dragoncity is cause they have carts on Sundays till around 1:30This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Forbidden City hands down is my favorite in the city. Mmmmm
I have never been there for anything but weekday lunch. And carts start around 11 or so.

Well.....live in Calgary, may well buy forzen dim sum, and steam at home!
I love dim sum, but have Dim Sum outside of Calgary more than in Calgary, not that terrible here, but think about that, even Tpot, Central Grand etc are damn busy with their quality of food and service and price and long wait time....I just give up to go Dim Sum here, just buy forzen Dim Sum with same quality, steam at home ..and enjoy with kids....
If I have to suggest a place, I say Silver Dragon too, U&Me is ok, Short waiting time....
