That's embarrassing for her. I would have liked to hear the rest of that conversation though.

not much more, just that this rebate is for all of canada who uses home heating oil so we get it to, and gets questioned on the fact only Atlantic provinces use it. we'll have convos with others too. Just non answers basically.

Someone should announce a rebate to convert natural gas heating to oil so that we can pollute more but save on carbon taxes. See what the feds say.

The only point of all this that is sticky is how interprovincial migration works going forward.

As the province everyone wants to move to, we will need to understand that in detail.

Dont want our kick ass pension diluted every time an Eastern Creep / Bum moves here
We dissolve APP. Everyone cash out and live off universal basic income.

I've honestly considered doing this for my garage because I have access to free heating "oil"

What makes the most sense about the carbon tax exemption is applying it to the most pollutey fuel. Man. Its so smart i cant even understand it. Well done liberals.

If I understand correctly, their logic for heating oil is that the exemption is there so that the money they save can be used to convert to heat pumps because that’s an expensive necessity. For everywhere else the logic is that it’s more expensive so we use less even though home heating is a necessity. There’s another argument that home heating oil is more expensive than natural gas, ignoring the fact that we have to use a lot more over winter as it’s way colder here than the maritime so actual costs are similar.

Justin Trudeau is an almost perfect reflection and representation of Canadians. He is the embodiment of what a Canadian citizen actually is and thinks.

Not to mention the Greener Homes Grant will give you $5,000 back for a heat pump, plus a $40,000 interest-free loan if you qualify.

We just went through this, and most heat pumps that qualify for the grant are around $13,000. So say you need to pay $7,000 back after the rebate. Over 10 years of repayment...

The fact the governments default wasn't "a program exists to help" they quite literally bought votes and turned the other cheek.

The good news is this is blindingly stupid and obvious to anyone else in Canada that it's going to setoff a cascade effect, and maybe scrap the tax on heating homes entirely.

yes. you can get a 10 year interest free loan, and up to a $5,000 grant towards the purchase. It's not new, and you need to get pre and post energy assessments.
