some cool suggestions in this thread.
my recommendation? a vintage omega speedmaster
39mm is pretty small compared to most watches of today. That’s also a very expensive quartz watch imho
I've had a Marathon automatic SAR for over 10 years, it's in that price range. It's more of a "tool" watch than the Breitling you like, but it is a Canadian made case and band which is unique, even has a maple leaf on the clasp, with a rugged and reliable ETA 2824 swiss movement.

A reasonably priced Victorinox I bought from Justin @ GEM years ago is one I've worn pretty much daily. Great quality IMO

I had a look at the Alpina. Very nice watches, very nice indeed. But not quite my style. A bit too soft around the edges.
I find the Damaskos are nice, but too much like Swatch Watches from the 80's.
It is interesting, buying a watch is a very personal thing. Its also interesting seeing peoples different styles on this thread and that of the wristshot Friday thread.
I have been on the same boat for a bit. have not done much research since I am still not sure I wanna spend over 1k on a watch. but this is what caught my eye the other day:

TAG Heuer Men's WAZ1110.FT8023 Formula 1
Again,
Huge final sale for TAG in J. Anderson now, but inventory is running down, many great pieces for ~ $1500-2000!!

I have this. It doesn’t get used that often due to the rotation but I do love it.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
