If you told me 2 years ago when I first got into mtb that I would be sending these kind of trails now I would have just laughed. The progression is real.
im brand new to this and yeah thats serious progression in my books. Photos dont do that drop any justice! The first time i ever went to moose my buddy showed me the entrance to jean guy and there was no way i could ever imagine being able to drop in to it, got home and watched the vids and it looks no where near as tech as it is lol

    I got this.

    https://www.specialized.com/ca/en/tu...=317310-188256

I can't speak about it highly enough. Build quality, fit and finish, and the tech are all very impressive.

I prefer the Spec drivetrain over the Shimano, which is loud as shit. The Spec is almost silent. I don't care about additional speed of a hacked drivetrain. I rarely could put that to use on the trails.
I paid less than that for a Ducati motorbike lol Thats a sick ass bike,$15k for a mountain bike is nuts. I think im going to convert to E bike too this winter, the climbs just fucking kill me and take all the fun out. Im heading to revy in 2 weeks and have booked an E bike for the day to help climb to the top of 5620. Never been on one so not sure what to expect on the way down.

Anyone got any recommendations on an E MTB bike under 7k? im a newb but like to think i can ride decent

If anything we made a better decision because we had a consensus and were all on the same page.

Was out to Revy the other week for the first time and did four days of riding (resort x2, Macpherson, & Frisby). We did Stoke Climb to the top of 5620 and we were talking about how good and well built of a climbing trail that it is...lol I guess what one thinks is enjoyable someone else doesn't

Bahahahaha "I guess what one thinks is enjoyable someone else doesnt" Do you get the same enjoyment as your wife/gf with some of the things she does

Currently taking the bike mechanic course at UofC.

Day one has been pretty basic, but definitely a worthwhile course.

They cover everything BUT suspension unfortunately. I plan on finding a suspension specific course as well

Well… GF rented a 29er (specialized stumpjumper carbon expert)from bow, did her 3hr coaching session on it Friday, then banged out a 1300m, 30km ride Saturday. Decided 29er is the way to go, turns out she also wants carbon now too

So pulled the trigger on a mondraker foxy carbon R, should be here this week. $6k all in, free shipping from Kelowna, no extra costs. Seems closer to what they cost in euros than dollars, but removes the one constant negative on the brand… which is cost for value.

Group set is weak, but fox 36 and full carbon frame for the cost of an A50 instinct, little cheaper than what the similar spec’d spectral would be landed too. Plus like… it’s in stock!

Fernie is in pretty good shape for the most part after the rains last week. Mostly park but we poked into the provincial park a bit too.

I've had a few asking me the broker fees, taxes and duty paid on the two Canyon bikes I've bought.
    One was $912 on a $4150 bike.
One was $175 on a $3000 bike. (customs messed up the classification, no duty just tax).

I did self clear the first bike and save not that much.

The top tubes on Mondrakers are so sharp. That one came from Stoked I'm guessing?

I want to upgrade from a hardtail so bad but I want to actually demo some stuff and get the right bike.

Indeed, they’re planning a showroom for this winter, so could probably sit on one before next season. Pretty impressed they have stock and that their CAD pricing is so damn good vs EURO MSRP

What did you get from Canyon?
I am waiting for Grizl to show up in stock. Their ETA is winter. Problem with buying in winter is that the bike will pretty much sit in the box until Spring next year and if I am not happy with the bike it will be well outside the return period.

Throw it on a trainer? But also isn’t the point of a gravel bike is to extend the season? Probably could ride easy during chinooks

I already have another bike on the trainer plus Spin bike.
Fair point on the Chinook days. Somedays I wish I had more motivation

Whistler bike park. Highest of highs, lowest of lows. At least it’s just a tib-fib.

That sucks! I don't see the 2 breaks.
Had a tri-mollear fracture a few years ago. Brutal recovery. Took 8 yrs until I finally got all the hardware removed. Muscle was fusing to the plate and tearing every time I lifted weights.

Strive and a Neuron for gf.
Like the strive so far but haven't pushed it. That shapeshifter once I got the hang of it and setup seems to make a big difference on climbing for me.

Was watching the site forever, then saw the bikes came up for preorder.
Took a good month from that point to have them shipped. Once shipped, it was 4 days out.

How did you land to break the tibia and not the fibia?
It's usually the fib that breaks first on and sort of ankle torsion.
