I'd expect it to get worse before it gets better from a media standpoint. This whole mess is becoming more politicized as people want to reopen and the media is more than happy to make big splashy headlines to drive views.

Once Kenney gets off his ass and releases a reopening plan, we'll probably see all the outlets dredge up "experts" (like that nutjob from the U of C) to speak out against it, how it is too fast, how reopening will result in a fourth wave, how it will put so and so at risk.

I don't see it happening... I mean maybe the media will try.

Once everyone has had the opportunity for both shots its time to open everything back up. I'm done with masks and not hanging out with family and friends as soon as we hit that mark.

I heard that Hinshaw is saying "yo, it's not up to us whether they go back to school. Just because it was us who shut schools down, I don't see why you'd think it was up to us to reopen them. Teachers Unions, Yo! If they feels safe about their feelings, we good!"

It wasn't public health who moved to online learning, it was the ministry of education. Public health supported their decision by also aligning other closures with it. So when she was asked about it that was essentially her answer: from a public health standpoint there is no reason not to. Any questions about the move to online learning or back to in-school learning would be best suited for the ministry of education but the data supports in-school learning.

Pretty sure when 7-12 stayed home after spring break, it's was the ramp up infections and loss of subs due to isolation. That was school boards which took that action.

The elementary go sent home 2 weeks ago was cases going out of hand and even testing capacity was stretched to the limit. That's when they got sent home.

It didn't do shit because they all end up in the mall anyway.
