Felt gutted for LEC, really wanted him and ferrari to get back into the win column even for just a race... Happy for Sainz thouugh he really maximized that spot, and Damn does Bottas ever have bad luck. How does that never happen to HAM? Finally some good luck for max, he deserves it and the lead in the championship is his so far!

Not going to lie, hearing lewis's radio made me pretty happy for once. Nice to see Merc and HAM are mortals after all.

But it is Monaco, which is a pretty off-track for many. Still a ton of races left so it will be interesting to see if merc just had an off weekend or if this is a sign of things to come. Somehow given the last decade I doubt it.

Don't worry, Ferrari mechanics will most certainly find a way to fuck this up. lol

Unbelievable that Ferrari didn't closely inspect the entire car given what was on the line...

Boss man did say they had no reason to check. Don’t know if Toto would do that but who knows. They got their own shit to deal with.

So did the mechanic push the nut through and had incorrect gun settings, or it was cross threaded before/during the race?

The car crashed into a fucking wall. They had every reason to check everything the regulations permitted them to check without penalty.

On Bottas car the gun wasn’t seated on the nut before it was fired. It rounded the nut. The wheel is still stuck and car needs to be shipped back to factoRy for removal.

I like Monaco. Its like the bitch slap track. The track that throws a few things out of order to test the teams and drivers.

I would have liked to seen Leclerc start. I was curious to see how Ferrari managed the race. I wonder, could not LeClerc get into a backup car..?

There hasn’t been a backup car in f1 in over a decade, maybe even longer. Banned long ago.

Yeah from what I read they’d lose pole to P5 if they did any replacement or work

Depends what needs replacing... I'm not an expert on the rules but I think the 5 position penalty is only for engine / gearbox.

I mean, they had to replace the front right of the car... Yet missing a cracked hub gave them a DNS. They claim they couldn't see it but I can't see how a crack world be missed if they did a proper inspection. I assume their ultrasound tools would have been able to detect the crack had they checked and I don't think changing a hub would have incurred a penalty.

Adding to what happened to the nut, here’s a comparison photo.

Crazy how much wear is on those things. Pretty much a single race use item.

So it was indeed user error. Did Toto fire the mechanic who ran the gun wrong? lol.

Sounds like the bendy wing gives RB 1/2s advantage per lap in Baku if you believe MB. RB is also got the counter protest ready for MB's front wing.

He's been transferred to do Clio Cup races only.
