I don't think anyone's ever accused Putin of being an idiot
Besides having a strong propaganda machine and heavily restricted state media, his personality has certainly aided him in maintaining an avid following. He's smart, well spoken and charismatic. He says the right things which sound plausible, and stands behind his statements with conviction and calmness, while seeming calculated and confident when threatening others.

It really only falls apart once someone is capable of reading between the lines. For example: In his interview, he went on and on about his version of history between Ukraine and Russia, claiming justification for the war on that basis. However, what he fails to bring to light is the obvious: That none of that really matters in today's world, and that a generation have already lived as independent Ukranians. Often, he has said the war was necessary to protect the motherland, yet no threat was actually ever made to Russia by Ukraine or the West in order to necessitate such an action. Basically, a lot of what he says doesn't make ACTUAL sense. But he projects it as if it does. Unlike Biden, who doesn't make sense even IF his writers had a logical point.

Doesn't matter it make sense or not. He got a podium and audience with conservative right during election year and someone like Tucker is playing ball.

The last question was irrelevant. Clearly the AI has already won the proverbial race to the moon.

People did call him insane and unpredictable. He's neither.
Not sure I’d go as far as to say he’s neither.

    Personally.

Thats a very ignorant thing to say - but I'll chalk it up to naivety. Our “culture” has made it okay to ignore history here and the past, but it is incredibly important in other cultures. A continent like Europe absolutely shrouded in it cant (especially Eastern Europe) just let it go.
"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents... some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new Dark Age."

We are definitely NOT ignoring history here, and are very much paying for it in more ways than one.

The Powers that Be Really Don't want the War to end. They could impeach Trump if Trump tries to pause funding, aka a Peace Deal

Steal a helicopter from your russian employer, and give it to ukraine for a bounty of half a million. Then go and hide in an area of spain with lots of russian and ukrainian people living there. Genius. Im sure i would want to hide amongst the local russian and ukrainians rather than say, i dunno, way fucken farther away.

Sanctions are working??? Groceries cheaper in Russia, a lot of supplies and options. Clean, nothing locked up. I'm sure there's little to no theft there.

Subway system clean, orderly, stations actually look nice and not run down. Looks to be no overcrowding, crime, filth, danger or annoying passengers. Nothing like the Democrat run cities in the US, or like in China

Ya but you can't be gay or trans in russia. Sucking dick should be celebrated, regardless of gender.

    ISIS gonna ISIS.

But it does make me wonder if they got paid by Ukraine and the USA (by association) USA never *directly* funds terrorism, but the dollars literally need only pass through one set of hands.

That they got caught running to the border of Ukraine is telling, mind you - trying to escape through Tibet would be even harder on land. Those ISIS terrorists are in for real pain, Putin has the torture chemicals that the USA has.

The Ukraine border is the closest international border to Moscow, anyone trying to get out of the country would use that border rather than taking a significantly longer route to khazakstan etc.
Belarus doesn't count, because that's very friendly to Russia and wouldn't be a safe spot for fleeing the Russian security forces.

Satellites saying that this summer will be a ground assault. USA does have the option of burning down Ukraine before Putin has a chance to fully take it. Historically, if you know that the enemy invading army has a high chance of complete conquest - you do burn everything beforehand.

If the USA is beholden to the greater European nations of NATO, USA destroying Ukraine before Putin has a chance to take it - is a brutal but valid strategy. Sucks to be Ukraine.

Countries being squashed on both sides is literally how WWII started.
