More impactful shocker. When playing the game that felt like lazy writing to me, so I liked the show’s development more. If anything the game should’ve spent a bit more of the grind with Sarah at the start instead of pointless walking and killing later on.

I always felt naughty dog learnt a lot of lessons on their style of storytelling with this game, and nailed it for uncharted 4 and subsequently tlou2.

It just felt like if they wanted to go down that path, keeping Sarah around longer might have actually been a better story line to build up some more emotional attachment, it just felt like it was still too short to change any of the shock factor. Anyways, looking forward to episode 2 to see how they deal with the clickers in the leaning building, that was one of the more intense experiences I've ever had playing a video game.

I'm not a fan of the zombie apocalypse genre, so I was only going to watch to see the Calgary scenery and find the scene they shot outside of my office.
But halfway through episode 1, I was hooked. Episode 2 had the 4th ave flyover, and the scene outside my office. Wow, you'd have to be looking for it to recognize it.
I had said to my co-workers that the 2 days outside the office would be about 45 seconds in the show, and that's why this shit costs 10 mil. it was closer to 2 minutes, but yeah. Wow.

Apart from Joel's death, it's a revenge story where no one actually gets revenge. The story just drags on and the player gets no satisfaction in the end. I wanted Abby to die a horrible death.

I think that's what make Part 2 great. But it's a polarizing story. There is no middle here.

Like I said, showrunner got balls if they put that on screen for season 2.

Having not played the game, I wasn't sure where the whole episode fit with the previous 2. But having said that, I thought it was interesting to look at the end of the world from the perspective of somebody who felt they benefitted from it.

The inner prepper (or the inner guy who's watched too many apocalypse movies), was sort of cursing how undisciplined he seemed to be with sound and lights, though.
