6e sounds like a bigger jump yea. Not sure much uses it but I think it’s telling that you only see 6 on their entry level stuff so far.
They know 6 won’t cut it for their big boy AP’s.

Cheap update to get 20-30% improvement. 6e will be a much bigger price jump with new radios.

Anyone using the U6 APs? Is their 6e plan still up in the air? I can't find any information on when Unifi will release their 6e APs.
unifi is almost always behind on releasing new specs. I'm not doing anything until 6e is out tho. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
They haven’t released any of their serious AP’s with 6 which should tell you something.
Just the lites and the 6’s.
I too am hoping to make the upgrade to 6 /6E soon.

Dream Machine Pro completely died on me the other day. Middle of the day no less. Purchased in November, didn't get the IPR at memory express , could be 6 - 8 weeks to get back from Unifi. Relying on a cheap ASUS to keep me working from home.
Anyone have to replace their UDM-Pro without a config backup? Worried about my unifi switch and AP's looking for a new controller.
Damn, that sucks. You can run a controller on a PC as a band-aid.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I guess I will keep my USG and cloud key v1 forever as a backup.

I still have my desktop that I used as a controller before upgrading to UDM. Had to get back online right away for important meetings, but I guess it would be smart of me to get old controller back up and running, capture the config, so when the replacement comes, its (more) straight forward. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Definitely keep the USG and v1 as backup!
It sucks that Unifi didn't update the 2.4 performance on the 6 lite and it's still only MIMO 2x2.
Is the UDMP known to have random failure? This is one of the item I am considering upgrading from my USG. I was planning to sell my USG but I might keep it around as a backup instead. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I need to sell my USG. I upgraded to a UDM Base. Saw no need for a Pro for my use case (maybe if I had space/fiber), plus the extra AP was nice.

I haven't heard of UDMPs failing. Generally speaking the complaints with Unifi are more software based than hardware AFAIC.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I wasn't able to find many threads within the Unifi community / forums regarding UDMP hardware failure, so it will be interesting to see what they say.
Yea most of the bitching about the UDMPro is people bitching about it not doing things that no other device at its price point can do.
Mine has been solid.

Same. One thing to make sure of is to turn off auto updates. Both for the UDMP firmware and the controller software. Wait for the masses to upgrade, if you need to for features / security. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I did the last update because I wanted smart notifications for my cameras, but I waited 3 weeks until the release was considered stable.

All the electrical activity makes me wonder if power surge could be the culprts.
Ups?

Will do. Memory Express is handling the RMA, so I'm not dealing directly with Ubiquiti, but I'll see what info is available. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I have a pretty decent UPS connected to everything in the rack. All other gear is A-OK.All the electrical activity makes me wonder if power surge could be the culprts.

I've bought direct from UI for everything but a couple of APs. The extended warranty is a bonus. Hopefully MEMEX takes care of you. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
