I know right. A friend of mine I've had for 23 years is a Ukrainian that lives in the Russian separatist region, and is a big proponent of Putin - and he has some good reasons for that IMO too - and he's tried explaining it to me 1/2 a dozen times and it still doesn't make any damn sense. He was in the Soviet army, and commanded a SA10/S300 Regiment as a Colonel, and knows a lot about Soviet/Russian air defense systems. I've flown online sims with him since the late 90s, and visited him once back when I went to Russia to fly the Mig29 in the 2000s. His opinion about the government in Ukraine being even more corrupt than Bidens (and to that point, Hunter and Joe Biden both have proven links to corruption/$$$$ from Ukraine, so there's that) makes him pretty blasé about feeling badly about Putin's Russia taking out Ukraine's government right now.

Ukraine has shot down 10 Russian aircraft so far, I've seen pics of transports, elint aircraft, KA52 helos, and some hard to identify fighter bombers. Ukraine did as well or even better than Iraq did in the first Gulf 1, and much better than the 2nd one, in terms of air defense shoot downs.
