Seems like only the one's that can't afford CA are moving here and boosting costs. Have heard moaning from Austin about costs rising due to influx of out of state residents. If it wasn't for the expat gig, no way this would be our choice. Construction is shoddy at best (but our bar is Germany/Europe, no comparison), land locked, no natural beauty. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
As for gun crimes, will be interesting, TX just passed a bill that opens up open/conceal carry for anyone older than 21 without any licensing. They're removing the background checks, the mandatory training and proficiency exam.
Hanging out in H-Town.
Miss the Autobahn
That will indeed be interesting to see how it influences gun crimes. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Sounds like Biden wants to go full retard on capital gains taxes so there might not be any escaping the socialism anymore.

Their new tax would be around 44% on capital gains for the money makers. Still beats the 50% we have to pay for risking our money.
Base. Several states have their own taxes that pile on well above that. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I’m not seeing any distinction between calling it a straight up Capital gains tax rate of 44%, compared to here where 50% is taxable but, leads to a much much lower effective rate rate.

Do people not know how the cap gains tax works in Canada??
For shame.
Canadians don’t know how their tax system works?
Was that question rhetorical?

People still think earning more gross can net them less if they get in a new tax bracket.

Should probably skip Wisconsin. Foxconn straight up gave up on it. Not enough brains to fill that gigantic facility they built. Asia trying everything to help, but America failing badly.
Knock on effect is that NASA was planning on buying "built in america" chips, but its pretty obvious by now - Asia has all the brains when it comes to factory silicon chip production. Of which the USA cannot do business with.
But they may be able to convert it into a $10 Billion cheese factory if necessary. I mean, arguably if they can do 100x with wine, they could probably sell a pound of cheese made of exotic toe fungus for $1,000 per pound - if they market it correctly.

I had to spend a week in Youngstown, Ohio. It's a living, breathing stereotype of poor redneck America. I haven't been everywhere in the USA but I can't imagine there's a worse city to live.
Worst place I'v been to is Bessemer, Alabama. The poorest place I'v been to and crime is totally out of hand.
Basically any of those southern states that relied heavily on the “company towns” from large industries, like coal... are pretty poor places; you don’t hear much about it in the news, but pretty rampant povertyThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
