I never thought I'd see the day. Minardi finally wins a race. Lol
What a crazy race, after such a boring start.
- Hamilton looked like he lucked out, by sneaking into the pit lane before they closed it but a minute later, it was all because he missed the sign.
- Bottas is a great qualifier, but can't race for shit on Sundays. He had a huge gift with Max retiring and Lewis sent to the back of the grid but couldn't capitalize on it.
- Albon is fucked. His days are numbered.
- Ferrari being Ferrari.
I think engine modes would have made the race even spicier.
It’s their second win. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

That race was awesome. Fun to watch the pre-race after for all their predictions lol.
Vettel with no brakes did at the first chicane what I do in the F1 game when I have no chance at winning
Felt bad for sainz after he ate up laps passing raikonnen and the lance having a bad restart when he has been consistently good at race starts. Would have been happy to have any of those three win though.
I wonder how much McLaren has to gain with Mercedes over Renault power next year. Those Renault engines sure seem pretty strong. Funny that RBR is stuck with Honda now when it’s clearly inferior.

Doesn't seem like much anymore when you look at the competition between racing point/renault/mclaren just neck and neck. I wonder if something like haas renault could happen for 2022 though. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
What a fantastic race. Probably up there with the Azerbaijan race from a few years back in terms of results. We need more races like that in F1.
Also, considering what Gasly has been involved in the last 18 months, the guy raced one hell of a race. Happy for him for sure. He took his time coming off that podium

Finally watched the whole race. I don't really have anything against Hamilton ... But it was pretty funny watching him get rammed in the butt just once in his life
Interesting that the Mercedes aren't very good setups for racing in traffic.
I think it's two-fold. They designed their car this year, and in the few years, to work best out in front with clean air. Get on pole and stay out in front was a simple strategy they've used to win. The next issue is that the FIA took away engine modes this weekend so they didn't have the ability to use mappings to cool the car, use maximum attack/quali mode, etc. I think if engine modes were allowed, you would have seen Bottas on the podium and Hamilton just outside of a podium finish. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Hamilton was clearing traffic like a champ out there.

Just based on what the commentators were sayingThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
This isn't the first time where you can see the difference between the 2 in traffic. Hell, even last year's race at Monza was eye opening. Ferrari had their cheater engine and was very difficult to make ground on the straights. Hamilton had several good looks on Leclerc, even one where Leclerc ran him off the road after curva grande, until his tires were beat to shit. Bottas had a clean run for the remainder of the race on good tires and couldn't make a single move at all on Leclerc. The difference is that Ham looks for opportunities to force the car ahead into mistakes in driving or energy deployment, which opens up more passing opportunities. Bottas just sits back and drives the same lap after lap hoping the guy ahead makes a mistake so he can capitalize. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Well, would Bottas be a top 5 driver on the grid? Probably not I would think?
I would say no. I consider Hamilton, Verstappen, Leclerc, Sainz, Ricciardo as my top 5. Bottas would be right outside. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Let's look at it another way. I think Bottas would need to be in a Mercedes or RBR to be top 5 in the standings this year. Hamilton could pull that off in a McLaren, Renault, Racing Point, and maybe even Ferrari.

Lando Norris might be ahead of him too? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I'm a Lando fan, and I'd guess they would be pretty close. Lando's better at creating passing opportunities, but he's still too error prone and inconsistent through a race. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Perez is out at the end of the season with racing point, hulk or vettel in with Aston???
Probably vettel like they are saying but hulk would be great too, he might even be a better choice imo.
Do you think Botta's role is more of a holdup type driver? He is reliable and predicable. Let Hamilton do the win and let Bottas dust up the remaining points? Im kinda baffled how is slow he is or maybe Hamilton is super duper good. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Perez is out. No Taquitos on the next race menu. I was watching some videos online, do you guys think he was underrated?
I just think Bottas isn’t that good. He’s just consistently average, although his qualifying performance has improved. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Pérez, I think he’s overrated. Doesn’t race smart. He’s low key had a shit ton of incidents, even with teammates. At McLaren he was gone after a year because of how he drove against his team mate. You can’t have that kinda bullshit in a team sport. His incidents with Ocon were the stuff of legends, having 2 hot headed idiots fucking the whole team over.
