This Joe Rogan controversy has really opened my eyes to how many obscure artists I have never heard of that think they are really important.

He posted a video about it. Basically he had a lot of really old episodes from 2018 and older where he used the full n word. Not as a racist intent, but as most people know, saying the full word is off limits these days.

If they pull down the McCullough and Malone videos that would be a different story.

This seems to be the nuclear option for those trying to get joe Rogan off Spotify, but most people who have listened to his podcast for a few years have heard him drop the n-bomb. Guessing they will start to run out of ammo after this.

The main problem is that funds were diverted from music into podcasts. Such is Spotify perogative, but they could have just as easily put $100 million into doing anything else, maybe plant some trees, maybe buy up some old TV stations and convert them into recording studios - who knows.

But that they decided to turn what is arguably incredibly neutral (music and its distribution) into a propaganda machine for MMA fighters. Imagine going to church - putting money in the plate - only to have it fund a campaign to legalize all drugs.

Would the USA be so accepting if $100 million was sent to talk show hosts interviewing North Korean soldiers? I mean, you can do it - doesn't mean you should do it.

But I can say, I do find some of the podcasts very insightful and valuable - when he isn't interviewing MMA fighters.

BTW: I fully await the day Rogan does interview said North Korean soldier.
