The team looks like its give up on eachother...
Not good.
Johnny and Monny would be a good second line on a good team. For a few games it looked like that was the plan here, and the "real top line" had a shot at being a real top line. Turns out they are probably a second line too, or third line some nights. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

So when does something happen... anything happen.. to stop whatever the fuck this is?
Don’t worry we’ll keep changing up players who don’t matter and keep the core the same
Sig nuked by mod.

Blow it up, rebuild needed.
Only untouchables in my eyes

Everyone else is fair game.
I'm surprised anyone cares at this point.

I haven’t watched the last 5-6 games, and I feel better.
It’s even pissing off all my oiler fan co workers that I don’t care and openly admit the flames are terrible.
about professional sports? True, it's meaningless, but it's a popular diversion. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

One upside of covid is I'm not wasting money on going to Flames games and having to see the shit product that this season is
I think you should add Looch to that list. He's one of the only guys out there actually trying. He's having probably his best season. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Handy because looch is unmoveable too.
I've said before that Johnny and monny are good players with reasonable contracts, but they can't be a top line. If you need that from them your team isn't very good.
If you can fit them in between a "real top line" and a checking line, then your team is damned good.
The concept is really hard to execute. Especially in a cap system. The flames keep failing at it.
Trading away Johnny and Monny, you aren't likely to get anyone better back. So unless you are trading for picks only and doing a full rebuild, I don't know how it works out for the benefit. It's not like Treliving hasn't been shopping them around for 2 years.

Johnny and Monny are great complimentary players, but if you need to rely on them to carry a team you won't do well.
Much like Phil Kessel in Toronto.
The best teams have great second and third lines. We have that, just no first line.

The most consistant thing about Jonny Hockey is him coughing up the puck just about every shift at the blue line. Holy fuck i'd scream at him if i was a defenceman. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
He's apparently the only guy who can carry the puck. It's a problem. Other teams have figured all that out.

My opinion is, before blowing up the team, we need to try a real coach first. That's really the only thing that hasn't been tried yet with this current core.....a decent coach. There are games where this team has shown it can actually dominate, enough of those games anyways to prove that maybe they just need a coach that can keep them on that level consistently.
it is baffling that the organization seems to cheap out on coaches.

The lack of passion and emotion during the games seems to come from the coach. He is never upset, never seems to show any emotion on the bench. That has to translate to the players. I thought this last year when he was put into the position with the firing of Bill Peters. A new voice is needed. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
