They couldn't walk the 30min to the airport after getting the vaccine? How do you just show up to a mobile clinic and get a vaccine without providing proof of local residency. This entire vaccine rollout and assigning priorities has been a shitshow from the start. The couple raised suspicions in Beaver Creek when they asked for a ride to the airport afterwards.
Snowflakes felt offended someone figured out a loophole."We just didn't anticipate that anyone would go to this length to effectively deceive the team to get vaccinated, and I think we all felt pretty offended at the whole thing," Streicker said.
Every system of prioritization is unfair. People trying to game that system for self-interest is the least surprising thing ever.
The only thing that removes that danger is when the shortage goes away and vaccines are available to anyone who wants them.

Covid kills people on the brink. Covid vaccine kills people on the brink. Mail order brides take shortcuts to get ahead of the line. What is the world coming to.

Israel is what we have looking forward to, but we are a long ass way to 40% 1st shot.
https://www.bmj.com/content/372/bmj.n217
But Pfizer efficacy is more like 33% instead of 52% on 1st shot from their data.
It's too early to determine first dose efficacyThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
This is great news. An mRNA vaccine designed, developed, and produced (in Calgary actually) in Canada.

Not sure if this helps us in the near term for this pandemic, but building this capability in-country is a good thing for the future.
I can't wait for us to give these away to CCP to help our dearest neighbours out. Or, to have the US find a clause in the new NAFTA that legally obligates us to produce it for them. For free. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Lol, I bet the CCP already has people working for Providence and getting ready to pull another Nortel on them. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The 2nd dose for my wife was delayed to 38-42 days due to the shortage. Hopefully it's still as effective. Pretty sure I read Pfizer said to stay within guidelines but I guess no choice now.
Yup, same here. Just gotta fly to the Yukon I guessThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Encouraging but the timeline is so far out that it probably not as critical by then. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
But having that tech on hand definitely will be useful on the next big one.
Wife is scheduled to get her 2nd dose tomorrow for Moderna
Sig nuked by mod.
If they have the equipment they should just license it to pfizer/moderna now and start producing one of their vaccines that are already approved. I imagine validating manufacturing standards for the lab is much quicker than trying to make a new vaccine from scratch and go through all the phased trials again. Would be good for next pandemic though, hopefully they can stay funded. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Still good to be licensor than licensee. The need for this will repeat in the future. After bitching about we have 0 vaccine building abilities, having this in our pocket is good move. Coming from Calgary is just a bonus. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Yeah but license it now and make things for this year + prove your new lab works well then next year start working on other mRNA based vaccines/treatments. There's more to mRNA than just covid. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
LOOOOL - Pfizer CEO in no rush to get his own company vaccine. If the disease was that bad and/or the vaccine that good, NO DOUBT these guys would have been recipients 001 through 012 (Board of Directors).
But hey, let others get it first!!
If the CEO of Pfizer somehow ended up with C19 that would have looked terrible for optics and stock price - rather that 'jumping cue' somehow. I would have thought these guys would have jumped on this - but no. They obviously have a bigger picture.

Damned if you do. Damned if you don't. There is no winning for him either way. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
These guys just can't win. If he took it, there would be articles about unethical/unfair it is that the rich and powerful get to skip the line. If he doesn't take, the tin foil hatters assume it's because he doesn't have faith in the product.
