Aside from aesthetics, there's not really a good reason not to cross shop a sport SUV with it's sedan counterpart, is there? Obviously a X3M won't deliver the same experience as a 911, but for all intents and purposes (incl. the occasional track day), I bet it delivers 99% of what a new M3 does.

Agreed - you speak sense good sir. I still REALLY want an M2 manual right now. Seeing your pic of your car on the road today...grrrr. Decisions. X3M lowered looks so bad ass though too.

You’re not supposed to use them on public roads, but they’re really not very obtrusive so I don’t see anyone having a problem with them. I’d just say they’re fog lights.
