He's already fully stocked on NOS stickers. If you have some type R mats or maybe the cell phone holder he could be game!

I really had my heart set on a 1LE for a while but just can’t afford the running costs.

It's not cheap but it's also not horrible. I think Rock Auto has front rotors for $400ea. lots of pad choices as that caliper gets used on a couple cars. Tires aren't terrible either, with all the camber I get about 130 runs out of a set of 19" Stones.

What are the running costs? Are they higher than similar cars?

That rotor price alone is terrifying. Rotor blanks for my C5Z were $55CAD a piece. And tires are even more on the 1LE. For my used a heavy car with large consumables is not affordable

I checked out consumable costs and that was actually one of the attractions of the car for me - Tons of pad choices as noted, from what i'm seeing rotor choices are ... slightly cheaper than $400 also:

*edit - tires for the car are brutal though, a set of Hoosiers costs more than my winter beater lol

**edit 2 - TIL about rotor rings and true replacement costs

That's what pops when you pull the engine cover lever inside the car lol. It's just for oil and coolant. The engine cover itself is sealed and not intended to be opened by the customer.

I'm interested to see what wholesale is on a car with a story. The McLaren market is bizarre - cars sit for months/years and price discovery is atrocious. They just sit and sit.

Well, this one should be on the low end of whatever that wide band of prices is.
Expect to spend the cost of a decent mustang in the first year getting it sorted out.
