He won't have it long enough to have the satin get holes and edge pealing to reveal the underlying paint, which some German engineer spent thousands of hours perfecting in anticipation of someone putting tinted cling film on it.

The "theory" behind having a full tank is that the temperature fluctuations (which are wild, here) MAY result in warm, damp air being pulled into the fuel tank and then later condensing and potentially contaminating the fuel tank with moisture/water which can cause two key issues. 1 being fuel + water and the other being water causing corrosion within the tank.
The first one is sus at best while the second only makes sense in ancient tanks that are made of materials where rust is a big concern, which is rare in "modern" vehicle, but fully a legit concern in older vehicles.

So just to clarify. A full tank of shell 94 with ethanol shouldn't be keeping me up at night? It probably still will as this is my first winter storing with ethanol gas.

Pretty much all gas is E10 now so, you'll be totally fine with a full tank of Shell 94. It's what's in my car for winter storage. I put in a few ounces of fuel stabilizer, but that's complete overkill, especially in a heated garage.
