What I like about the e-bike is I can do this, then do it again the next day… I could do this on a normal bike. But I would not be riding the next day

oh dude, you're doing this on an e-bike? I thought like... what breed of horse is riding a bikeThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

My favorite part was pedaling up to pistolero and two guys who shoulder checked us then refused to pull over. We put a hurt on them while chatting and single handing, while they were dying to stay ahead of us. So silly
Yeah, I only have a small 504Wh battery, so I have to leave it in eco… I did a 37km/1400m lap before and was on fumes, that’s about the max. Heading up for c’ya I figured I had plenty and tossed it in boost, was doing about 16km/h up husky… but triggered limp mode right before resting rock
We boosted up husky the first lap and that really limited us for the future ones.. Norco has some pretty crazy sales on EMTBs right now, but not sure I can do sell my soul
I've ridden a couple and don't know how you guys can say they're good on the down... they feel like a 1000000lb sled to me and it's not like my Nomad is light (34lbs)

Geared up on my regular bike, I'm probably 240-245 lbs.
You think the weight difference, which is almost entirely at the crank, is going to be that big of a deal?
Conceptually not, but ride feel is much different. To me anyway

Ride is different for sure (and even more so if you like your reg bike “playful”)This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
E-bikes stick to the ground like crazy, but also need an aggressive tire for the steeps or they get squirrelly. Best change I made was swapping a worn aggressor for a new assegai
Here is some almost apples to apples comps, all T2Bs, segments are slightly different lengths as e-segments are segregated from regular, but fairly similar times on two different style of tracks:
Conclusion: e-bikes handle just fine. different, yes. Bad? Not really, I will agree though that I prefer a regular bike in the air, and also when things are tight (nose pivot on an e-bike is not easy)
Sun peaks is epic this year
one grip that I have with long/low bikes... have you guys ever noticed when you're bonked on tech climbs, long off-cambered sustained climbs, wouldn't it be nice to not have to constantly lean the bike over to turn on switchbacks lol
I guess thats the sacrafices between having an older >68 deg HTA to these super slack bikes.
I will give up all the things climbing for more good going downhillThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Yes, sun peaks is great. Was just west of all the smoke when I was there aug long, I did find it was dry af though, and some of the double blacks were bombed to shit. Creeper was in good shape though, and behind bars (the black right after it) was almost loamy!
Chute on sugar, was especially a beach:
Found that the e-Santa Cruz absolutely shredded downhill, super glued with how heavy it was.
Biked (with labour ) at Hinton the last two days. Man what a place. The bike park is super well built, and the new trails in the Bighorn zone are probably the best built flow trails I’ve ridden all this year. Professionally designed and built, super sick downhill. Not a brake jump anywhere and decent climb trail.
thats cuz you gots an e-bike.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
That’s not an e-bike.. and I technically made this one worse for climbing by slacking it out another degree with a 180mm air strut vs the 160 it came withThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Zero noticeable difference though, but way nicer in the chunk. it sits in the mid stroke more and feels so damn good. The dhr II is some noticeable drag though from the aggressor that was on it. Worth it
@BavarianBeast
You did a Mexico trip right? Any tips? Where did you stay?
Our group of 6 is looking for a resort style stay with decent mountain biking. A place that can service truck laps would be awesome.

I had an incredible trip to Oaxaca shuttling trails there. We did 8 nights with 6 days of riding. I went with Oaxaca bike expeditions, and it was all inclusive basically. They set up the hotel, dinners in town and entertainment/etc. Would highly highly recommend them. Another option is Transsierea Norte if you just want to hire a shuttle and figure out the rest yourself. That’s what we plan to do next time, as there were a few nice restaurants we missed out on. Oaxaca is incredible though, will definitely go back. The best food and drinks I’ve ever had in Mexico.
We stayed in the hotel palacio borghese for two nights downtown and than hotel Victoria Oaxaca for the riding. I think Grand Fiesta has an all inclusive in Oaxaca which would be a good option if you want to just hire TSN to shuttle you.
Dope that is exactly what i needed. Will get i touch with them.
