They should come with battery maintainers not block heaters.

Agreed, or at the very least if they don't, just the quick connect to connect to a charger would be fine too as a bare minimum (like they do with bikes). This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

What the fuck is a retainer on a car sale? That's stupid. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Is that legal? @shak
Well the patience paid off. Just signed the paperwork for a Ioniq 5 and supposed to fly out and pick it up Saturday.
They ended up coming down to MSRP, removing 6k worth of crud addons to move it by the end of month. Ended up having to still pay the stupid $700 admin fee bs which is whatever at this point. Long Range preferred RWD.
They’re doing RoFR on some of the new Lamborghinis, and making people sign paperwork saying they can’t sell for a year. As far as I know, they can’t legally hold you to this in Canada but Lamborghini or other brands may blacklist you from buying new.
On a side note - I was typing this and ended up talking to my wife halfway through the response and it typed out our whole conversation. How do you intentionally do this haha

So does a Lambo blacklist apply to the entire VWAG lineup?

I don't see how a ROFR can't be legally binding also.
The finance or lease requirements cannot be enforced... Bonus goes to paying it off earlier than stipulated and knowing the dealer has to pay back their reserve $$$.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Fuck the idea of giving the dealer a retainer / additional deposit and giving them all the power.
Not sure about here, but the ROFRs are generally not enforceable in the US... The worst they can do is stop selling you new cars. At this point in the market cycle, I feel like the dealers will be begging for business before that becomes an actual consequence worth worrying about.
Is the ROFR restriction related to vehicles in a special way?
Because ROFRs in general area certainly enforceable
IIRC Admin is listed on the website too (like BMW, MB etc). but no wonder they'd do MSRP on a long range rwd. Cant really give those away....This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

RWD is just fine for me since it gets a fair bit better range (480km RWD vs 410km AWD)This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I do know I've only encountered an involuntary finance once and paid it off 4 days later and when doing so, there was zero push back from the finance dept, even though less than a week earlier it was "absolutely mandatory and non-negotiable"... I know there have been a ton of articles and posts on here that all essentially say the same thing - a consumer cannot be forced to maintain financing, aka they have to be allowed to pay it off.
Yah the dealership that just sold me my Supra forced me to finance, did so at a rate higher than the posted rate on the website and told me I absolutely couldn’t pay it off for 6 months. Needless to say it was paid off the day it was opened with the bank. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

They say the 6 months thing because that is when the dealer gets their kick-back from the lending institution. So if paid-off before that, they lose out on whatever that kick-back is.
Technically, they get paid right away; it gets clawed back if you pay it off in <6 months, which is even betterThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I bet the average person isn't aware this is even an option. "They said it so I guess I have to" especially when using words like non-negotiable.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
