@Brent.ff ...sorry was delayed getting back to you. Sent you a PM.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
hrmm.. so my work does a $2500 interest free 'loan' for fitness items, that can come off my paycheck for the next 24 months.. Contemplating that and going new, add a $1000 from selling ice gear..
picking a bike is worse then a restaurant with 17 pages of items
you may want to do it fast, they run out of stock
Calgary cycle is having a sale starting on the weekend. Free tune ups for life.

been still riding my HT doing blues around Invermere at Johnsons, Juniper heights, old coach and Swansea... love the simplicity of HT, and most of the trailsThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I even hit up some black sections and cleaned them well... only things that I wish I had suspension for is climbing roots and rocks.
The flowey blues and black sections are so much fun to ride, and HT is so nice for the climbs and flickability
I think though, I will look at the downcountry genre of bikes... even though a Bronson, Genius etc.. are so much more planted on the downhill, if I spent 2/3's of the time climbing, I think a Fuel EX, Element, etc... with a 120/130 front/110 rear would be sufficient.
I would love to see a mid-fat 29er (2.6 x 29) HT with a good 130+ front fork and see how that would go... everything I see other than the stache seems to be 27.5+ and I'm impartial to niners these days
A Honzo ST with 29er carbon wheels at 35mm and 2.6's may be a really fun bike.
Even a 120/100 is perfect for around here. I ride mine on all the trails around here, we really don't have anything in the Calgary area the requires more than that unless you are looking for jump lines. Over-biking really makes riding here boring. If you take a look at the new Tallboy I really think that's the bike 90% of people need, I just wish the head angle was a degree steeper. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show QuoteTrance (3?) for 1500 would be nice. How are the conditions of those rental bikes? Where? I would be interested to get one in size small. I don't know much about mountain bikes at all but toyed with the idea of a Trance 2 after reading some suggestions here. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Which ones?? I'd be very interested in picking one of these up.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

If you're buying a rental bike, I really suggest you get an independent inspection (i.e. not from the shop you're buying it from).
I'll go through it thoroughly on my own, used to race DH a LONG time ago, built 4 bikes and used to be a bike tech...This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
